News Kimberley Walsh of U.K. Pop Group Girls Aloud To Star in West End's Shrek the Musical Kimberley Walsh, a member of U.K. pop group Girls Aloud, is take over from Amanda Holden as Princess Fiona in the London production of Shrek The Musical, beginning performances Oct. 5. This follows the announcement that Holden is leaving the show Oct. 3, two months earlier than planned, due to her pregnancy.

As a member of Girls Aloud, Walsh has sold 10 million records, released five platinum selling albums, won a Brit award and played sold-out arena tours. Her love of musical theatre was explored in the ITV2 documentary "The Passions of Girls Aloud" which culminated in her appearance at the Queens Theatre, Shaftesbury Avenue, singing "On My Own" from Les Miserables.

She joins a company that includes Nigel Lindsay as Shrek, Richard Blackwood as Donkey and Nigel Harman as Lord Farquaad.
