Graffman, who retires as president of Philadelphia's Curtis Institute this year, will be celebrated at a concert on September 26 featuring Christoph Eschenbach, Lang Lang, Roberto D‹az, Leon Fleisher, and other musicians.
The Kimmel's orchestra series will include the New York Philharmonic conducted by former music director Zubin Mehta, the Gewandhaus Orchestra Leipzig led by Riccardo Chailly, the NHK Symphony led by Vladimir Ashkenazy, and the Bavarian Radio Symphony led by Mariss Jansons.
Among the visiting recitalists are pianists Leon Fleisher and Evgeny Kissin and violinists Maxim Vengerov, Joshua Bell, and Sarah Chang.
The 2006-07 season will mark the first full season featuring the center's new organ, scheduled to be completed in May. The organ recital series will include Cherry Rhodes, Wayne Marshall, and Paul Jacobs, the young musician who has caused a stir with his marathon performances of Messiaen's organ repertoire.
The jazz series includes vocalist Nancy Wilson, pianist McCoy Tyner, saxophonist Sonny Rollins, and vocalist Dianne Reeves.
