King and I Will Have Broadway All to Itself New Year's Eve | Playbill

News King and I Will Have Broadway All to Itself New Year's Eve The King will have Broadway all to himself this year.

Though New Year's Eve once provided a bonanza of special-event celebrations on the final night of the year, Lincoln Center Theater's revival of The King and I is the only Broadway show scheduled to perform Thursday evening, Dec. 31. The performance begins at 7 PM.

The show plays at the Vivian Beaumont Theater in Lincoln Center, some 20 blocks north of Times Square, far from the partying crowd waiting to see the traditional drop of the lighted ball.

Several shows have scheduled special Thursday matinees on Dec. 31, including Aladdin, Matilda, A Gentleman's Guide to Love & Murder and The Book of Mormon; most, however, have no performance scheduled that day.

Tickets to the special New Year’s Eve performance of The King and I are available at the Lincoln Center Theater box office (150 West 65th Street), at Telecharge.com or by visiting KingandIBroadway.com.
