Kinky Boots and Something Rotten! actor Nick Rashad Burroughs will inhabit soul and funk musician James Brown in a one-night-only concert at Joe’s Pub July 15 at 7 PM.
Nick Rashad Burroughs Is James Brown Live will recreate two of Brown’s legendary performances, including his appearance with the Famous Flames on the T.A.M.I show in 1964 and his 1971 appearance on Italian television.

Burroughs will perform Brown’s “I Feel Good,” “It’s a Man’s World,” “Papa’s Got a Brand New Bag,” and “Get Up (Sex Machine),” which feature arrangements and musical direction by Joshua Stephen Kartes. Michael Borges produces the concert.
