Kinky Boots, the 2013 Tony winner for Best Musical, will end its run April 7, 2019, at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre. At the time of closing, the hit musical will have played 2,507 regular performances and 34 previews—making it the 25th longest-running production in Broadway history.

Directed and choreographed by Tony winner Jerry Mitchell, Kinky Boots began previews on Broadway March 3, 2013, prior to an official opening April 4.

The winner of six 2013 Tony Awards, Kinky Boots features a Tony-winning score by Cyndi Lauper, a book by Tony winner Harvey Fierstein.

The original Broadway company was headed by Billy Porter as indefatigable drag performer Lola, whose broken heel helps mend a broken wing for a foundering shoe-maker, originally played by Stark Sands. Both Porter and Sands were Tony-nominated for their performances; Porter won the Tony for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical.

The production has scenic design by Tony winner David Rockwell, costume design by Tony winner Gregg Barnes, lighting design by Tony winner Kenneth Posner, sound design by Tony winner John Shivers, hair design by Josh Marquette, makeup design by Randy Houston Mercer, casting by Telsey + Company, with musical supervision, arrangements, and orchestrations by Tony and Grammy winner Stephen Oremus.

Kinky Boots is produced on Broadway by Daryl Roth and Hal Luftig, James L.
