Broadway Records will release Kyle Taylor Parker's Broadway Soul, Vol. 1 digitally and in stores August 16. Inspired by Parker and Joshua Stephen Kartes' YouTube series The Soul Sessions, the album reimagines Broadway showtunes as R&B numbers, with songs from Next to Normal, Rent, Show Boat, West Side Story, The Wiz, and more.

Parker will celebrate the release with a performance at Rockwood Music Hall Stage 2 September 8 and 8:45 PM. For tickets, click here.

"I wanted to make an album that brought Broadway to the listener in a way they’d never thought of it," says Parker. "This album is dedicated to my 12-year-old self sitting on his bedroom floor eyes shut tight wanting nothing more than to be a part of it all."
