News Kinky Boots, The Madrid and Golden Boy Win 2013 Artios Awards The Casting Society of America has announced the winners of the 2013 Artios Awards.

The ceremony was held simultaneously at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles and at XL Nightclub, Cabaret & Lounge in New York, hosted by Harvey Fierstein.

The New York ceremony featured award presenters Uzo Aduba, Keegan Allen, Tony nominee Hank Azaria, Betsy Brandt, Danielle Brooks, Josh Charles, Tony winner Gabriel Ebert, Tony winner Katie Finneran, Tony nominee Richard Kind, Zosia Mamet, Hannah Nordberg, Tony winner Billy Porter, Carrie Preston, David Rasche, Tony nominee Condola Rashad, Corey Stoll, Daniel Sunjata, Aaron Tveit and Samara Wiley, among others.

The awards honored President of CBS Entertainment Nina Tassler with the Career Achievement Award, casting director Linda Lowy with the Hoyt Bowers Award and Michael J. Fox with the New York Apple Award.

The Career Achievement Award was given in recognition of the recipient's contribution to the industry as a whole and her inclusion of the casting director in the overall creative process.

The organization also bestowed the Hoyt Bowers Award on one of its own, given for outstanding contribution to the casting profession. The New York Apple Award is given to an individual who has made a special commitment to the New York entertainment industry through collaboration with casting directors. 

Daniel Swee received the award for casting of New York Broadway Theatre – Drama and Bernard Telsey and Justin Huff were honored for the Tony Award-winning musical Kinky Boots. New York Broadway Theatre – Comedy went to Daniel Swee for Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, while New York Theatre – Comedy or Musical went to David Caparelliotis for The Madrid. New York Theatre – Drama went to Jim Carnahan for If There Is I Haven’t Found It Yet.

In regional theatre honors, Jim Carnahan, Stephen Kopel were honored for The Glass Menagerie with Regional Theatre East, and David Caparelliotis was honored with Pygmalion for Regional Theatre West. Joe Turner’s Come and Gone (Joanne DeNaut, Andy Crocker [Associate]) was recognized with the Los Angeles Theatre prize and Carousel (Jay Binder, Jack Bowdan) was recognized for Special Theatrical Performance East, while The Book of Mormon (Carrie Gardner) received Special Theatrical Performance West.
