The couple were wed at Devil’s Thumb Ranch in a ceremony with friends and family, the New York Times reports. Actor Happy Anderson, a close friend of the groom, officiated the ceremony.
Ashford and Tapper met in 2006 when the actress' manager, Beth Rosner, introduced the couple over lunch.
Ashford, whose credits also include Wicked, Legally Blonde and the Off-Broadway revival of Rent, has been stopping the show nightly at Kinky Boots with her stand-out song "The History of Wrong Guys."
Tapper is currently developing a new play with Mabou Mines and has appeared in Richard II at Yale Rep and Of Mice and Men at the Pioneer Theatre in Salt Lake City, UT. He is a graduate of the Yale School of Drama MFA program.
