To celebrate their fifth anniversary season, the Plasticene Physical Theater Company presents the one-night-only return of its inaugural work, doorslam[sic], Oct. 17 at the Viaduct Theatre in Chicago.

doorslam is an aural and visual show that uses only four actors and three doors. The story follows a working man who encounters his exact double while en route to his job. Mark Comiskey, Julia Fabris, Sharon Göpfert, and Brian Shaw comprise the players in this production.

The original production premiered at Chicago's Chopin Theatre in Oct. 1995 to a two- week, sell-out run. It then extended at the Steppenwolf Studio in April 1996 and became a Critic's Choice at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival later that summer.

Dexter Bullard directs the Plasticene play with sound by Eric Leonardson, lights by Robert G. Smith, and projections by Stephan [sic] Mazurek. Other productions in the Plasticene repertoire include Volume XII, Refuge, 4x4, and Come Like Shadows.... The company also provides a physical training program for actors, improvisers, and directors.

For tickets to the limited seating performances, playing one night only, at 8PM and 10:30PM, at the Viaduct 3111 N. Western Ave. (south of Belmont), call (312) 409-0400.
