"It is with deep regret to inform everyone that due to my injuries, I am unable to return to 'The Good Wife' at this time," Chenoweth said in a statement. "Getting better slowly and thank you everyone for your concern."
The Wicked star was cast in a reccurring role as a political reporter on the series. Her character will appear in the Sept. 30 season premiere.
As previously reported, Chenoweth was injured July 11 while filming in Brooklyn on the set of "The Good Wife," A piece of equipment, knocked loose by strong winds, struck Chenoweth, who fell to the ground. The actress was taken to Bellevue Hospital for treatment for her undisclosed injuries. She was released on July 12.
Chenoweth won the Tony Award in 1999 for her performance in You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown. She was nominated in 2004 for her performance in Wicked and has also been seen on Broadway in Steel Pier, Epic Proportions, The Apple Tree and Promises, Promises. The actress is also known for her film and television work, including the recent ABC series "GCB."
Her new CD, "Some Lessons Learned," arrived Sept. 13, 2011, on the Sony Masterworks label.
