News Kristin Chenoweth in Talks for Hello, Dolly! Broadway Revival Tony Award winner Kristin Chenoweth is being courted to star in a Broadway revival of Jerry Herman's Hello, Dolly!, according to the New York Post.

Chenoweth, who last performed on Broadway in Promises, Promises, is in talks to star in a multi-million dollar Broadway revival of Dolly in the next two years. Tony Award-nominated Chaplin director-choreographer Warren Carlyle is attached to helm the project.

The Nederlander Organization has been pursuing a revival of the musical for the past several years.

Based on Thornton Wilder's 1955 play The Matchmaker, Hello, Dolly! features a book by Michael Stewart and music and lyrics by Jerry Herman. Song titles include "Put On Your Sunday Clothes," "Before the Parade Passes By" and "It Only Takes a Moment." Carol Channing originated the title role. 

Chenoweth's stage work includes Steel Pier; You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown; Epic Proportions; WickedThe Apple Tree; and Promises, Promises. Her TV credits also include "GCB," "Glee," "Submissions Only" and "Pushing Daisies." Some of her film credits include "Rio 2," "Running With Scissors" and "Stranger than Fiction."
