Chenoweth will play Darlene, "a classic Dallas housewife and villain motivated by her skewed sense of goodness," according to Deadline. The pilot will follow divorced mother and former high school "mean girl" Amanda (Leslie Bibb) as she returns to her Dallas home. While Amanda was mean to Darlene in high school, Darlene is described as being too much of a good Christian these days to hold a grudge.

The pilot will also star stage veterans Annie Potts (God of Carnage, "Designing Women") as Gigi and Miriam Shor (Hedwig and the Angry Inch, "Damages") as Cricket, along with Jennifer Aspen (Sharon) and Marisol Nicholas (Heather).

Chenoweth received a Tony Award for You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown and an Emmy Award for the ABC dramedy "Pushing Daisies." Her other Broadway credits include Promises, Promises; Wicked; The Apple Tree; Epic Proportions; and Steel Pier. She plays the recurring role of April Rhodes on the hit Fox series "Glee," which she is expected to reprise later this season.
