Stage favorite Kristin Chenoweth stars in the new season of Trial & Error (titled Trial & Error: Lady, Killer), premiering on NBC July 19.

The Tony and Emmy winner plays Lavinia Peck-Foster, an eccentric small-town socialite caught up in a scandal when she's found with her husband's body in the trunk of her car. All signs point to guilt, including a gold cane, no alibi, and the fact that the body was, again, found in the trunk of her car. But that doesn’t stop the judge and jury from adoring her.

Chenoweth joins the cast in the second season after the first followed the trial of Larry Henderson, played by fellow Tony and Emmy winner John Lithgow. The cast also includes Tony nominee Steven Boyer, Nicholas D'Agosto, Jayma Mays, and Sherri Shepherd.
