News Kristin Chenoweth Offers “Concert By the Sea” August 2 Kristin Chenoweth, who is currently starring in the Broadway-bound production of Wicked in San Francisco, will offer a solo concert Aug. 2 at East Hampton’s Guild Hall.

Part of the Hall’s “Concerts By the Sea” series, Chenoweth’s 8 PM concert will feature classic songs of the twenties, thirties and forties from her Sony Classical recording, “Let Yourself Go.” The Tony-winning actress will be accompanied by Rob Fisher and the Coffee Club Orchestra. (Actor-comedian Mario Cantone will also be part of the summer series at the Guild Hall. An Evening with Mario Cantone is scheduled for Aug. 16 at 8 PM). Kristin Chenoweth, who opened this season's American Songbook series at Lincoln Center, made her New York theatrical debut opposite Bill Irwin in a production of Molière's Scapin and followed that with a lead role in Kander and Ebb's Steel Pier. Roles in Off-Broadway's A New Brain and the City Center Encores! productions of Strike Up the Band and On a Clear Day You Can See Forever ensued. Chenoweth also starred in her own, short-lived TV series "Kristin," and her other TV appearances include roles in "Frasier" and ABC's television adaptation of the musical Annie. She was also recently featured in the TV production of Meredith Willson's The Music Man and will return to Broadway this fall in the aforementioned Stephen Schwartz musical, Wicked.
