In Garson Kanin's 1940's comedy, Kritzer will star as dim-witted showgirl Billie Dawn, who accompanies her crude tycoon boyfriend, Harry Brock (McGrath), to Washington, D.C., "where he hopes to 'buy' a few congressman with her charms. Unfortunately, her social and intellectual ignorance becomes a hindrance to his business prospects, so he hires a journalist to give her a crash course in history, politics and literature. Properly educated and presentable, she recognizes the crook for what he is worth and falls in love with her tutor," according to press notes. The cast will also feature Ross Bickell (Noises Off), Michael Keyloun (The Producers), David Furr (Cymbeline), Suzanna Hay (Dance of Death) and Brad Bellamy.

Pamela Hunt directs the Cape Playhouse production that runs through Aug. 30. Set design is by Richard Chambers.

Leslie Kritzer was most recently seen as Jane Hurley in the intimate Broadway musical A Catered Affair. A Special Achievement MAC Award winner for her show Leslie Kritzer Is Patti LuPone at Les Mouches, Kritzer was Drama Desk-nominated for her performance Off-Broadway in The Great American Trailer Park Musical. Her stage credits also include Legally Blonde, Hairspray, Batboy, Godspell and Fanny Brice in the acclaimed Paper Mill Playhouse production of Funny Girl.

Michael McGrath is a Tony nominee for his performance in Spamalot. His Broadway credits also include Is He Dead?, Wonderful Town, Anything Goes, Little Me and Swinging on a Star. McGrath also starred in the Cape Playhouse production of A Day in Hollywood/A Night in the Ukraine earlier this season.
