The 2.5 Minute Ride is over -- at least for Seattle. Lisa Kron's highly successful, autobiographical one-woman show ends its stint at A Contemporary Theatre July 30. Perfmances began there June 30 with an opening July 6. Mark Brokaw (This Is Our Youth, How I Learned to Drive) directed.

Kron's 75-minute yarn, which won her an OBIE Award, tells a trio of life inspired stories: her visiting Auschwitz concentration camp with her ailing father, attending her brother's wedding to a woman he met on the internet with her lesbian lover and spending time at Cedar Pointe, the Sandusky, OH, amusement park, where a rollercoaster takes her clan for a "2.5 minute ride."

With the Five Lesbian Brothers comedy troupe, which she helped found, Kron appeared in The Secretaries and Brides of the Moon. 2.5 Minute Ride premiered at the La Jolla Playhouse in 1996 and has subsequently played New York (the Joseph Papp Public Theatre, 1999), London (Barbican Centre) and across the United States.

Tickets are $42-$23. A Contemporary Theatre is located at Kreielsheimer Place. For tickets, call (206) 292-7676. A Contemporary Theatre is online at http://www.acttheatre.org.
