The singing actor, who also appeared in the second season of the NBC musical series Smash, has been cast in the role of Maxine “Max" Griffin, a passionate Washington, D.C. insider who founded a networking platform for women called The Roster. Griffin's purpose, according to the industry website, is to get “politics to treat women better.” Joshua Safran, who was showrunner on Smash's final year, is the creator and an executive producer for Quantico.
Max's fiancé on the series is played by fellow Broadway alum, Hunter Parrish (Godspell, Spring Awakening), who is scheduled to make his debut on the series March 20. Rodriguez's premiere date has yet to be announced.
Rodriguez's Broadway credits also include First Date, The Addams Family, In the Heights, A Chorus Line, Good Vibrations, and the original production of Spring Awakening. She will also be seen in the new NBC comedy, Trial & Error.
