News Kushner's Caroline, Angels Top 2003 Best Lists, Six Nixed Late in December, the nostalgic (and list-happy) nation turns to its publications — Playbill On-Line not excluded — for the annual best-of-the-year roundups.

The onslaught of such year-end review lists has begun, offering theatregoers a look back at the year on the stage, both good and bad. Some stagings — such as Taboo — are being considered on both ends of the spectrum.

Tony Kushner's Caroline, or Change is among the top theatre shows named — as is his screen adaptation of Angels in America, in the television category. Stephen Schwartz's new musical Oz fairy tale Wicked is also appropriately "Popular" - as one of the show's songs boasts. The ill-fated Six Dance Lesson in Six Weeks seems to be a popular persona non grata as the show is a repeated entry on "Worst of" tallies.
