The album, which will also be released March 28, highlights the work of composers Ricky Ian Gordon (My Life with Albertine, The Grapes of Wrath), Jake Heggie (Dead Man Walking, Moby Dick), Lowell Liebermann (The Picture of Dorian Grey) and Glen Roven (Goodnight Moon).
The composers will accompany Okulitch throughout the recital, as they do on the album, with the exception of Heggie, who has a previous commitment. The compositions are world premieres that will be making their concert and recording debuts.
In addition to La Boheme, Okulitch's opera credits include The Fly at the Opera du Chatelet in Paris, Don Giovanni at New York City Opera, Willy Wonka in The Golden Ticket with Opera Theatre of St. Louis, and Figaro with Los Angeles Opera.
"The New American Art Song" will be produced and released by GPR Records.
