Five-time Emmy Award-winning actor Kelsey Grammer, who is currently starring on Broadway in La Cage aux Folles, will guest on “The Late Show with David Letterman” April 23.

La Cage aux Folles is Grammer’s Broadway musical debut. He is playing Georges, the suave owner of a glitzy drag club on the French Riviera, partnered romantically with his high-strung star performer Albin (played by Douglas Hodge).

The original production of La Cage aux Folles debuted on Broadway in 1983, ran for over 1,700 performances and won six Tony Awards including Best Score for Jerry Herman and Best Book of a Musical for Harvey Fierstein.

This new production of La Cage, directed by Terry Johnson and choreographed by Lynne Page, began life at London’s Menier Chocolate Factory in 2007 before moving to the West End’s Playhouse Theatre in October 2008.

La Cage aux Folles opened April 18 at the Longacre Theatre, following previews from April 6. For more information, visit www.LaCage.com.
