Go True West, a comedy combining the first twenty minutes with the dinner sequence from Keaton's "The Scarecrow" and all the techniques of Butoh, Warner Brothers cartoons, Suzuki and slapstick.

What happens when a theatre company combines Sam Shepard's True West and Buster Keaton's "Go West"? Go True West, a comedy combining the first twenty minutes with the dinner sequence from Keaton's "The Scarecrow" and all the techniques of Butoh, Warner Brothers cartoons, Suzuki and slapstick.

Go True West returns to Los Angeles with a run beginning Oct. 16 at the Lillian Theatre in Hollywood. The production, directed by 2001 Ovation Award nominee Anthony Sandoval, features 2001 Ovation Award nominees Ben Simonetti and Joe Fria.

Mami Arizono crafted the show with Sandoval, Simonetti and Fria. The four have worked together on projects for the Zoo District theatre company. Sandoval recently directed Simonetti as Salvador Dali and Fria as Luis Bunuel in Pathe-X, nominated for multiple 2001 Ovation Awards.

Go True West hopes to extend to weekend performances, but for now, only plays Tuesdays. Tickets are $10. The Lillian Theater is located at 1076 North Lillian Way in Hollywood. For reservations, call (323) 221 6656.
