Damian Chazelle, the Oscar-winning director of La La Land, is attached to a new TV project entitled The Eddy, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The Whiplash director will collaborate on the musical drama with writer Jack Thorne, currently represented on the London stage with the hit J.K. Rowling play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Set in present-day Paris, The Eddy, the industry website reports, concerns “a club, its owner, the house band, and the volatile city that surrounds them.”

Executive producers include Grammy winner Glen Ballard and Alan Poul (Six Feet Under).

WME is currently shopping the project to streaming and cable outlets. No timeline has been announced.
