From the creator of L.A. Weekly Award nominee Down South, a comedy about oral sex and the Cuban Missile crisis, comes Doug Field's newest play, C Cup, a look at surviving in breast cancer in a tiny Texas town. This world premiere begins performances at the Dorie Theatre at the Complex March 1 for a run through April 7.

At the start of C Cup, Jana Banson is very unhappy - her husband is sleeping with the neighborhood slut, the fat daughter she's never been able to love is getting married (the wedding planner is the aforementioned woman of easy virtue) and yes, she's very aware of the fact that she only has one breast. Her only consolation is her prize-winning garden rose garden. Still, by the end of the play, she manages to win her husband back and learns to accept her child, who has found everything in her Chicano finance Alejandro.

Alana Stewart, former supermodel and celebrity spouse (she's been hitched to George Hamilton and Rod Stewart), plays Sally Ann, the slut. Julie Sanford plays Jana with Don Paul as her husband Sam and Jennifer Manley as Sarah Beth.

C Cup was designed by Paule Doss (costumes), Burris Jackes (sets) and Frank McKown (lighting).

Tickets are $15. The Dorie Theatre at the Complex is located at 6476 Santa Monica Boulevard. For reservations, call (323) 957-9009. — By Christine Ehren
