LOS ANGELES -- The Boys Next Door, by Tom Griffin, will be presented by the Palos Verdes Players, opening July 17. The play focuses is on the lives of four mentally-disabled men who live in a communal home with their guardian, a sincere but despairing social worker.

The show is directed by Tony Torrisi and produced by Dennis Owens and Sherry Bouma. In the cast are Stephen A. Carver, Michael Cullen, Dustin Fine, Mike McCann, Harry Sefton, Susan Stangl, Mary Steelsmith, Scott Thornton and Dwight R. Williams.

The show runs 8 PM Friday and Saturday, July 17 through Aug. 29. Matinees are at 2 PM on July 26, Aug. 9 and 23. The gala opening night show is July 18, with tickets priced $2 more. Tickets are $12 for general admission, $10 for seniors and students, with special group rates available.

The Palos Verdes Players is at 2433 Moreton St., Torrance, CA, between the Pacific Coast Highway and Lomita Boulevard, at Crenshaw and Amsler, behind the P.V. Bowling Alley. For information and reservations, call (310) 326-2287.
