"42nd Street will shine brighter than it ever has before," NEWSical producer Tom D'Angora said in a statement. "La Toya will do what the Jackson family does better then anyone else in the world: entertain!"

Jackson has released a slew of Billboard-charting songs including "Just Wanna Dance" and "Free the World." She has also been featured on several leading reality television shows including "Celebrity Apprentice," "America's Next Top Model" and "RuPaul's Drag Race." Jackson currently stars on her own hit reality show on the Oprah Winfrey Network, "Life with La Toya."

NEWSical The Musical has previously featured special guests Perez Hilton, Andrea McArdle, Cheri Oteri and Carson Kressley.

NEWSical The Musical, according to press notes, "is the forever changing, completely un-sanitized musical mockery of all the news that's fit to spoof. From Honey Boo Boo to Paula Deen, the budget crisis to The Long Island Medium, marriage equality to Kim and Kanye's baby, NEWSical The Musical sets all of today's biggest pop culture headlines to song."

NEWSical The Musical features Christine Pedi (Chicago), Michael West (Forbidden Broadway), Tommy Walker (Evil Dead The Musical), Susan Mosher (Hairspray), Kristen Manglekoch and Dylan H. Thompson.

NEWSical The Musical, created and written by Rick Crom, is directed by Mark Waldrop and produced by D'Angora. Rounding out the creative team are Ed Goldschneider (music director), Jason Courson (set designer) and Krystal Roccaro (stage manager).
