With the commencement of previews of David Levaux's production of Neil LaBute's The Distance From Here at the Almeida on May 2, not only does LaBute return to the scene of his last big hit, The Shape of Things, but London has yet another play about a group of angst-ridden rebellious American youths.
Unlike This Is Our Youth, which is set in Manhattan, The Distance From Here (as its name implies) refers to suburbia, and the alienation of young Americans from the society in which they have grown up.
