News LAByrinth and Public Present Guinea Pig Solo, April 20, Starring Ortiz The LAByrinth Theatre Company, in collaboration with the Public Theater, will present Guinea Pig Solo, a modern retelling of Woyzeck, beginning April 20.

The piece, by Brett C. Leonard, is about a soldier recently returned from the 2003 U.S.-led war in Iraq. John Ortiz stars as Jose Solo in what is described as a "visceral, violent and visually stunning riff on Buchner's classic." Also in the cast are Kim Director, Alex Flores, Judy Reyes, Stephen Adly Giurgis, Portia, Robert Glaudini, Jason Manuel Olazabal and Vincent Pastore.

LAByrinth has already produced Robert Glaudini's Dutch Heart of Man under the Public's roof, in a staging independent of The Public's programming.

Ortiz has appeared in the LAByrinth productions of Jesus Hopped the A Train and Where's My Money?.
