LaChiusa’s Wild Party Returns to New York City Tonight | Playbill

News LaChiusa’s Wild Party Returns to New York City Tonight B-Side Productions presents the musical through September 17.

B-Side Productions presents Michael John LaChiusa and George C. Wolfe’s The Wild Party beginning September 6 at the TBG Theatre in Manhattan.

The cast stars Denis Lambert (Dr. Zhivago, A Chorus Line) and Jamey Hood (The Shaggs, Playwrights Horizons) with Joan Barber, Jodi Bluestein, Greg Carter, Kyle Carter, Sam Edgerly, Kyle Garvin, Lauren Hooper, Garth Kravits, Ben Maters, Joanna Parson, Christopher Patterson, Sarah Smithton and Adrienne Tang.

Performances continue through September 17.

B-Side associate artistic director Billy Bustamante directs the piece with music direction by Addison Frei.

Here’s how B-Side bills the musical: “The decadence of 1920’s Manhattan is the setting for B-Side Productions’ next offering, The Wild Party, where the gin and jazz is flowing and no one is exactly what they seem. Michael John LaChiusa and George C. Wolfe’s gripping Tony-nominated musical, based on the scandalous 1928 poem of the same name by Joseph Moncure, follows the story of a reckless relationship between a Vaudeville clown and a chorine that spirals into the depths of despair as the night unfolds.”

Show times are September 6-17 at 7:30 PM.

Jasper Grant is artistic director of B-Side Productions. The company also presents new work; click here to read more about Sandy Rustin and Eli Bolin’s play with music and dance, Houston, which received the New American Musical Award and will have a New York City workshop in September.

The TBG Theatre is located at 312 West 36th Street. For tickets and information, visit b-sideproductions.org.
