Effective immediately, the organization has exited its leased production center in Laguna Hills. The venue housed a set-building workshop, rehearsal studio, classrooms and a telemarketing office. The playhouse will seek other spaces for rehearsals and classes. "We're going to outsource our set-building," Andrew Barnicle, the playhouse's artistic director, told the Register. "We're hoping that will save us some money. Telemarketing we'll outsource as well."

Four members of the full-time production staff have been laid off.

The company has no plans to vacate its mainstage home, the Moulton Theatre on Laguna Canyon Road.

The 2010-11 Laguna Playhouse season will be announced in the coming weeks.
