News Lamas Announced for A Chorus Line at Ogunquit Playhouse Golden Globe nominee Lorenzo Lamas will star in the Ogunquit Playhouse production of the Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning backstage musical A Chorus Line.

A Chorus Line launches the summer season at the Maine theatre May 20-June 13. Luis Villabon, who recreated the late Michael Bennett's original direction and choreography for the Italian national tour of the musical, will stage the Ogunquit production.

Lamas will portray omnipresent and rarely-seen director Zach in the musical that follows 17 hopeful dancers who put their lives and personal stories "on the line" in the hopes of landing a chorus role in a Broadway show.

Complete casting for A Chorus Line will be announced shortly. The production will feature the original Broadway scenic designs by Robin Wagner and costumes by Theoni V. Aldredge.

Originally created and conceived by Michael Bennett, A Chorus Line has a book by James Kirkwood and Nicholas Dante, music by Marvin Hamlisch and lyrics by the late Edward Kleban.

Lamas was nominated for a Golden Globe for his work on the television series "Falcon Crest." His additional television credits include "The Immortal" and "Renegade." He has appeared in the films "Lethal," "Viper" and "Mask of Death." Lamas recently appeared in stage productions of The Fantasticks at Casa Mañana and the 2007 Ogunquit presentation of The King and I. Tickets are available by phoning (207) 646-5511 or by visiting OgunquitPlayhouse.
