Molly Ringwald’s participation as Sally had been announced earlier. But despite some speculation that Dean Cain — best known for the TV series “Lois & Clark: The New Adventures Of Superman” — would take over where Luke Perry leaves off, it’s another alumnus of that series who’ll step into the dating game. Michael Landes, who played Jimmy Olsen between 1993 and 1994, is the new Harry. Landes, making his West End debut, has also appeared in TV shows such as “The Wonder Years,” “The Fresh Prince of Bel Air” and “The Drew Carey Show.” His films include “The Gentleman From Boston,” “Hart’s War” and “Final Destination 2.”
Dexter Fletcher, the well-known British actor who has appeared in films including “Bugsy Malone,” “Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels” and “Topsy Turvy,” will play Harry’s friend Jack. Susannah Wise will play Marie.
Ringwald, who succeeds Alyson Hannigan, made her name through seminal 1980s films "The Breakfast Club" and "Pretty In Pink." Her theatre credits include Broadway — in the 2003 production of Enchanted April and the Sam Mendes-directed Cabaret — and How I Learned To Drive in Los Angeles.
The new cast will take over on June 2, though between July 1 and 7 Liz Jasicki will stand in for Ringwald. Ticket prices, formerly £12 to £40, have now been raised to £13.50 to £42.50 for Friday and Saturday evening performances.
