PlayBlog Lane, Neuwirth and Addams Family Cast Haunt "Letterman" (Video) Nathan Lane, Bebe Neuwirth and the delightfully ghoulish cast of The Addams Family visited “Late Night with David Letterman” April 6 to perform the show’s opening number, “When You’re an Addams.”

As Gomez and Morticia, Lane and Neuwirth led the family – “living, dead and undecided,” according to Gomez – in a graveyard celebration of their everlasting fascination with the macabre. Also glimpsed in the number are Krysta Rodriguez as daughter Wednesday, Adam Riegler as son Pugsley, Jackie Hoffman as Grandma, Kevin Chamberlin as Uncle Fester, Zachary James as butler Lurch, and a lively chorus of undead ancestors.

The Addams Family is currently in previews at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre, where it opens April 8. The show features a score by Andrew Lippa and a book by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice. It is directed by Phelim McDermott and Julian Crouch, and choreographed by Sergio Trujillo. (Jerry Zaks has served the production as a creative consultant).

In addition to McDermott and Crouch, who designed the sets and costumes, the creative team includes lighting designer Natasha Katz, sound designers Acme Sound Partners, special effects designer Greg Meeh and puppetry designer Basil Twist. Orchestrations are by Larry Hochman and Mary-Mitchell Campbell serves as musical director.
