Classic Arts News Lang Lang and Diana Damrau Join World Cup Concert Pianist Lang Lang and soprano Diana Damrau have joined the lineup for the "Three Orchestra and Stars" concert in Munich on June 6, according to the event's web site.
The concert will also feature performances by tenor Plšcido Domingo and the Bavarian State Orchestra, led by Zubin Mehta; the Munich Philharmonic, led by Christian Thielemann; and the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, led by Mariss Jansons.

The web site also now includes a program for the concert, one of three events featuring Domingo during soccer's World Cup finals. Offerings include Strauss's Also sprach Zarathustra, Orff's Carmina Burana, Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue (with Lang Lang as soloist), and excerpts from operas by Wagner, Strauss, and Verdi. Domingo and Domrau will perform "Tonight," from Bernstein's West Side Story, and the tenor will perform a work of his own composition.

The finale, a "football medley," will include a performance of Rogers and Hammerstein's "You'll Never Walk Alone" by Lang Lang and Domingo and Elgar's Pomp and Circumstance. Finally, Damrau, Domingo, and Lang Lang, with all three orchestras and their conductors, will perform the rock anthem "We Are the Champions" by Queen.
