LOS ANGELES -- East West Players has set the cast and designers for the world premiere of Euijoon Kim's My Tired Broke Ass Pontificating Slapstick Funk, which opens March 15 for a three-week run. Deborah Nishimura is the director.

Plagued by old men with little dogs, mysterious fuzzy slippers, arrogant video store clerks and angry Asian actors, Eric hasn't been right since he traded insults with Karen in the men's room of a club in Koreatown. How is this anti-hero going to get out of his "tired broke ass funk?"

Kim, of the David Henry Hwang Writers Institute, answers the question in this decidedly anti-romantic comedy. A strong adult language warning notice has been posted at the door.

The cast includes Hydo Chang, John Cho, Art Chudahala, Leon Goertzen, Kerri Higuchi, Alexis Mao and Leilani Murakami. The set designer is Chris Tashima, costume designs are by Dori Quan, with lighting by Jose Lopez and sound by Paul James.

East West Players' David Henry Hwang Theatre is located at 120 N. Judge John Aiso St. in Little Tokyo. For tickets and information call Telecharge at (800) 233-3123. -- By Willard Manus
