News   L.A.'s Ovation Awards Seeks New Theatre Professionals for 2001-02 Voting The Ovation Awards, Los Angeles' peer-judged theatre awards, is looking to add a few new members to its voting poll. The awards arm of the non-profit program Theatre LA seeks as many as 50 new voters, especially technical artists and professionals residing in the San Fernando and San Gabriel Valleys and Long Beach and the South Bay.

The Ovation Awards, Los Angeles' peer-judged theatre awards, is looking to add a few new members to its voting poll. The awards arm of the non-profit program Theatre LA seeks as many as 50 new voters, especially technical artists and professionals residing in the San Fernando and San Gabriel Valleys and Long Beach and the South Bay.

To qualify, a potential voter must be a professional theatre artist or technician, theatre staff member, producer or other theatre professional with three or more years experience.

Selected members will be required to become an associate member of Theatre LA with a $35 fee and a required voter meeting in August. Voters must see a minimum of 25 registered shows with 20 of those staged in venues in the 99 seat theatre category. Voter seats are complimentary.

Interested persons should send a professional resume and cover letter describing five favorite moments in Los Angeles theatre from the past year. Applications should be sent to Ovation Review Committee, Theatre LA, 644 South Figueroa Street, Los Angeles, CA 90017 or faxed to (213) 614-0556.
