The second annual Las Vegas Easter Bonnet Competition raised approximately $13,000 for the Saint Therese Center HIV Outreach Center on April 5.

Produced by Amelia Keene, who appeared in the original Broadway companies of Starlight Express and Anna Karenina, as well as New York's first annual Easter Bonnet Competition, the Las Vegas Easter Bonnet Competition was held at the Rio Hotel's Chippendales Theatre.

The Las Vegas Easter Bonnet Competition varies slightly from its New York counterpart, as local businesses and various entertainers from the Vegas strip are also invited to create hats for the event.

CBS affiliate anchor Chris Saldana and Vicki Van Tassel hosted the competition, which featured performers and bonnets from Jersey Boys, Phantom of the Opera, Tony and Tina's Wedding, Soprano's Last Supper, as well as Cirque du Soleil, Edie, Jubilee and local organizations including Fidelity National Title Co, Tiger Lily Flower Shop, Keller Williams Realty, St. Rose Hospitals, Body Spa and The Shade Tree.

The first annual Las Vegas Easter Bonnet Competition raised nearly $10,000 for the Saint Therese Center HIV Outreach Center, which serves the Southern Nevada community by providing physical, emotional and spiritual support to those affected by HIV and AIDS.
