New York's Axis Company will end its run of the world premiere of Picture This, starring OBIE winner Jan Leslie Harding, June 5.

The address of the new Axis Theatre, One Sheridan Square, may be familiar to longtime theatregoers as the former home of Charles Ludlam's Ridiculous Theatrical Company. Axis has revamped the house - changing seating configuration from 143 seats to 99, and filled that space with top-of-the-line sound equipment, lighting, projectors and rigging.

Picture This continues Axis' efforts to combine the worlds of experimental theatre and the horror genre. The company cites as influences: The Wooster Group, Richard Foreman, Tobe Hooper and David Cronenberg.

Picture This journeys through the mind of Sally Menckl, a young lady who has suffered the loss of her brother, mother, father and grandma, and years later is still unable to give these events a singular meaning.

Harding has received a cult reputation for her frequent appearances in the plays of Richard Foreman and Mac Wellman, each of whom has his followers in the downtown scene. Harding has also appeared in numerous films by Hal Hartley and, most recently, took over for Amanda Plummer in Killer Joe. For tickets ($10) or more information, call (212) 807-9300.
