Late nights with New York City's Bat Theatre Company have been filled with playwright Erin Courtney's dark comedy, Mother's Couch, since July 9, but if you haven't seen it yet, you may want to get over to the Tribeca-based Flea Theatre, where the show closes, Aug. 28.
Couch revolves the home of a suburban couple and their gender confused five-year-old. Things get more complicated when a pair of sexy thugs from Reno enter the home and threaten the sanity of the family.
Courtney is an affiliated artist with NYC's Clubbed Thumb theatre company and the author of several plays including: Pricked, Summer Play, and Downwinders.
The cast of Mother's Couch includes members of The Bat's resident acting company, The Furballs (named for a species of demons in Mac Wellman's play, Sincerity Forever), including Garrett Domina, Paula Ehrenberg, Paul Siemens, Chime Serra, Sam Tsao and Stephanie Weldon.
