Shadowland Theatre of Ellenville, NY, is finishing up its run of Jan de Hartog's gentle 1951 comedy, The Fourposter, through July 26. The show, which opened July 10, features former "Welcome Back Kotter" star, Ron Palillo. Becky Moran co-stars.

Before I Do! I Do! came this comedy of a couple's 35-year marriage. Shadowland's mounting is co-produced with Wayside Theatre, VA, and staged by Wayside's artistic director, Christopher Owens. Said Owens of the play, "It's a great challenge for two actors, both in the aging process of 35-plus years, and in the rollercoaster of comedy and drama..."

Palillo also starred as Mozart in Delaware Theatre Company's Amadeus and was one of Three Guys Naked From The Waist Down at CA's Tamarind Theatre.

Upcoming shows at Shadowland will be:
Six Women With Brain Death, or, Expiring Minds Want To Know (July 31-Aug. 23). Believe it or not, it's a musical -- with songs and sketches all based on "the absurdities of a contemporary woman's life."

Taking Sides (Aug. 28-Sept. 13). Ronald Harwood's drama pits an American officer in post-war Berlin against orchestra conductor Wilhelm Furtwangler, who may have collaborated with the Germans. This will be the 14th year for Shadowland Theatre, its fourth as an Equity house. Artistic Director Bill Lelbach told Playbill On-Line in 1997 he saves money by designing and building the season's sets himself. He generally chooses shows for the season by selecting two cornerstone plays and filling the rest of the season around them.

Lelbach says, "An Equity theatre in a small town requires doing what you can with available labor. I basically work myself to death!"
