Kathryn Grody, wife of Mandy Patinkin, will give the last of her three performances of her one-woman show, A Mom's Life , Nov. 2 at Broadway's Belasco Theatre. A Mom's Life has played during the dark Monday nights at the Belasco where Patinkin's Mamaloshen resides, Oct. 13-Nov. 7.
Proceeds from the performances go to the Association to Benefit Children.
Written by and starring Grody, A Mom's Life is described as a "touching humorous look at a day in the life of a woman trying to raise two decent children and keep her sanity in the process". Life is directed by Jack Hofsiss (Tony for The Elephant Man), with lights by Eric Cornwell and sound by Otts Munderloh.
Grody received a Drama Desk Award for A Mom's Life when it played 48 performances at the Public Theatre in 1990. Grody's previous credits include Broadway's Scapino, Off-Broadway's Fishing, Tina Howe's Museum, Top Girls by Caryl Churchill, and Scenes From an Everyday Life.
Mom's Life will play three Broadway performances: Oct. 19, 26 and November 2 at the Belasco Theatre. Tickets ($20-$40) are available through the Belasco box-office or Telecharge, (800) 432-7250.
