The musical about "love and tennis for those who've been around the block long enough to know the score" returned to the Century City Playhouse Aug. 13, initially for a six-week run which was later extended indefinitely.

LOS ANGELES -- Love 40 will close Nov. 11. The musical about "love and tennis for those who've been around the block long enough to know the score" returned to the Century City Playhouse Aug. 13, initially for a six-week run which was later extended indefinitely.

The Stephen Downs-Toni Handcock Downs musical won acclaim in its original run last year but has now been reworked and further honed by its creators.

Produced by The Artists' Collective and Hands Down Productions in association with Fara Marz Shahbazian Productions, Theresa Larkin directs a rotating cast of singers -- now infused with new talent in addition to many of the original cast members -- in this comic, bittersweet look at baby boomers entering the second round of "singlehood," now with years of experience and plenty of baggage including kids, hot flashes and carefully concealed wounds.

Among the cast are Janice Lynde, Beth Robbins, Mary Cadorette, Mary Jo Mecca, Lesley Corne and Larkin herself.

Thurs.-Sat. at 8 PM through Sept. 26 at the Playhouse, 10508 W. Pico Blvd. Tix are $15-$12.50 (students/senior citizens). For information call (310) 204-5959. -- By Willard Manus
