The final shows in an eight-performance run of Charles Marz's The Island of Anyplace will be presented on June 1 at the American Repertory Theatre (A.R.T.) in Cambridge, MA.

Earlier performances took place at the Loeb Drama Center on May 23, 24, 27 and 30. As reported, Marz's play was written for children and involves a young girl's first exposure to the theatre. Though reluctant to go at first, the girl's character becomes involved in a production and discovers the magical freedom that theatrical creativity can provide her.

Seven actors from the A.R.T./MXAT Institute for Advanced Theatre Training at Harvard perform in The Island of Anyplace.

The show is popular with children and is performed for student audiences at various grade levels. A.R.T. production notes indicate that a teacher's guide, pre-and post-show activities, and an interactive storybook version of the production are available at www.amrep.org/island/.

Directed and choreographed by Thomas Derrah, the show's production team also includes music by Barry Rocklin, sets and costumes by Scott Bradley, lighting design by John Ambrosone and sound design by Christopher Walker. Tickets are $16 for adults and $9 for children. The Loeb Drama Center is located at 64 Brattle Street in Cambridge. For tickets and information call (617) 547-8300.
