Canadian Dave Carley's A View From The Roof wraps up its run at Boston's Orpheum Theatre-Foxborough Oct. 4.
Based on the short stories of Helen Weinzweig ("A Passing Ceremony, A View From the Roof"), Carley's play follows an aging businessman who hires two actors to reenact important parts of his life.
Charles Stransky plays the businessman, as well as a Canadian tourist named Bernie. Lizbeth MacKay plays the role of Mother with Karen Murphy, Anne Bates, and Cody Nickell filling in the various past people of importance.
Julianne Boyd, artistic director and founder of the Barrington Stage Company, directs. The design team includes Steven Capone (sets), Peg Carbonneau (costumes), Deborah Constantine (lighting), and Bruce Ellman (sound).
