TheatreWorks of Palo Alto, CA, rolls up the canvas of it second staging of Sunday in the Park With George, the Pulitzer Prize-winning James Lapine Stephen Sondheim musical, July 18.

TheatreWorks previously mounted the musical -- which begat the song, "Putting It Together," made famous by Barbra Streisand -- in 1987.

Sunday in the Park kicked off the professional company's 30th season with previews beginning June 23. It opened June 26.

Michael Babin (an alum of Les Miserables on tour) and Michelle Duffy (a Goodman Theatre and Northlight Theatre regular) play Seurat and Dot in the musical exploration of artistic genius, freedom and sacrifice.

Artistic director Robert Kelley directs on the stage of the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts in Mountain View, CA. Tickets are $20-$37. For information, call (650) 903-6000.

TheatreWorks will stage the world premiere of Everything's Ducky, a musical take on the Ugly Duckling tale, by Side Show writers Henry Krieger and Bill Russell, Jan. 19, 2000-Feb. 13, 2000.
