News LAST CHANCE: The American Plan and Enter Laughing A Catskills romance with a twist concludes its Broadway engagement while a popular musical comedy about a talentless young actor ends its extended run Off-Broadway.

Featuring a book by Joseph Stein (Fiddler on the Roof) and music and lyrics by Stan Daniels, the critically heralded musical stars Josh Grisetti, Jill Eikenberry, Michael Tucker, Marla Schaffel and Bob Dishy. Stuart Ross directs the 1930's set musical, based on the play of the same title, about an aspiring actor who must free himself from a host of overbearing relatives and friends, while struggling to meet the challenge of an immense lack of talent.   • The American Plan (Broadway at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre). Tony and Academy Award winner Mercedes Ruehl, Lily Rabe and Kieran Campion star in the Catskills-set work by Richard Greenberg, which centers on an imperious mother, her seemingly fragile daughter and the mysterious suitor who enters their lives.
