After a sold-out run during this year's New York Fringe Festival and then a downtown transfer, The Flying Machine's Utopians will end its run at The Present Company Theatorium, Oct. 3.
Utopians is described as uncovering "the darker side of clowns in the apocalyptic vision of the future", and is produced by an international ensemble entitled, The Flying Machine.
Set in a smog-filled metropolis on the verge of decay, Utopians tells of a clerk, a pipe fitter, and a delivery boy whose lives take an unexpected turn.
The Present Company Theatorium is the recently opened multi-arts performing center located on the Lower East Side. The Theatorium operates both as a performance venue and a resource center for emerging artists. Inspired by the turn of the century buildings of the same name, The Present Company's Theatorium is dedicated to provide constant eclectic popular entertainment and serve as a staging ground for the new forms and media of the next generation of theatre artists.
