Closing at the Zephyr Theatre in Los Angeles, Oct. 6, is applearts' [sic] twenty-first anniversary performance of The Offering, which began its run Sept. 21. Gus Edwards' Offering tells the story of a man who decided to drop in on his old mentor who is now living as a recluse with his wife. The man, with girlfriend in tow, expects to thank his mentor, only to end up discovering himself and the true nature of his teacher.
The Offering was originally performed by the Negro Ensemble Company in 1978.
Abdul Salaam El Razzac directs. Carey Hart and Abdul Salaam El Razzac star with John B. Moody, Lorne A. Hollis, Elaine Lockley-Smith and Sarah Cooper alternating roles.
