LOS ANGELES -- Tom Noonan's Obie-winning black comedy Wifey, a look at the age of therapy and how two couples tackle the trauma of modern relationships, will open Oct. 23 at the Working Stage Theatre.
Noonan earned the 1994 Obie Award for Wifey, which had its world premiere at New York's Paradise Theatre. The play was shot as a film entitled The Wife and was screened at the 1995 Sundance Film Festival, followed by a theatrical release in Aug. 1996.
Directed by Frank Megna, the Working Stage Company's cast includes Dick DeCoit, Hali Frankel, John Nicholas and Mary Tower.
Noonan's most recent piece, staged Off-Off-Broadway last season, was Wang Dang.
