CHICAGO -- Last Chance to catch Northlight Theatre's season-closer, The Wound and the Bow. Commissioned from American playwright Amlin Gray, this new translation and adaptation of Sophocles' Philoctetes opened May 13. Like its source, Gray's drama tells of a Greek warrior maimed by a serpent and abandoned en route to the Trojan war. Forsaken by his army because of his disability, the undaunted soldier still possessed Hercules' magic bow -- the weapon that would lead the Greeks to victory.
Russell Vandenbroucke, artistic director of Northlight, directs.
