Drew Richardson in Help! Help!

Directed by Avner "the Eccentric" Eisenberg, the 60 minute piece follows the showbiz mantra, "the show must go on" — even when a suspicious character has eliminated the entire cast.

According to production notes, "All the performers in a vaudeville variety show have been murdered—except for Drew the Dramatic Fool. Unfortunately for him, the show must go on, or he's next. Drew attempts every act in the show, including juggling 36 balls and sawing a woman in half, in this comical examination of human anxieties, from fear of performing to fear of failure to fear of death. When courage fails, the only answer is dramatic foolishness."

Drew Richardson studied theatre at Ohio University and then with Jacques Lecoq in Paris. He made his New York debut in 1985 as part of the 2nd New York International Festival of Clown-Theatre at the Westbeth Theater Center. He currently tours Help! Help! to performing arts centers around the U.S. The Pittsburgh-based Richardson also created a series of one-minute movies, which were shown in multiplexes around the country and reintroduced silent shorts before major motion pictures for the first time in the 21st century. Director Avner Eisenberg's one-man show, Avner the Eccentric, played the 1984-1985 Broadway season. He also appeared on Broadway in Ghetto and The Comedy of Errors, but he is probably best known for his portrayal of the scene-stealing holy man in the film "The Jewel of the Nile." His new show, Exceptions to Gravity, has toured the U.S. and abroad. For more information visit www.avnertheeccentric.com.
